WebDec 16, 2024 · Just got my 2011 Tundra back from one of my local dealers for the same thing, on my 5.7 Mine was covered under warranty, but still got a copy of the bill, it was $1300.00 and change and that WAS 15 HOURS LABOR, $3400.00 seems kinda high. WebMar 1, 2014 · Both cam towers and the timing chain cover were leaking. Took 3 whole days for repair. I was able to get an "extended warranty" from Toyota although I'm still waiting on the paperwork to come in. Basically extended the powertrain warranty from 5/60 (I think this is what it is) to 6/100. I suppose it's better than nothing. E emerica9138 Registered
WebFeb 7, 2016 · The cam tower leaks are rare. It has to do with whoever is setting up the machine that lays down the sealant. Neither of my two Tundras have had it. Rear man seals are rare as well but some seals are defective. Some get torn when they are pressed in place.
